After walking into the bakery to find the register empty she decided to take it over much to Kai's dismay. Alabaster saw it as a great oppertunity to find somebody to cover for him, and Kai saw it as another failure on his part to not vet employees. She isn't necessarily a bad employee, but unlike Alabaster she is not somebody Kai was previously familiar with so he holds negative feelings towards her for her intrusion.
